Lexie the Circus Bouquet RingMaster

Yesterday I noticed that the crocuses had sprung from the Earth. Their arrival is about two weeks early, but entirely welcome. It's the first sign that Spring will soon be here! Time for color and new possibilities!

This is Lexie the Circus Bouquet RingMaster. She's the first in a series of the Circus Bouquet Dolls I'm planning on creating this year.

Love Letters

I'm not a big fan of candy or flowers on Valentine's Day. I prefer Love Letters. Candy and flowers last for a short while, but Love Letters can last a lifetime. They can be stored in a pretty box to be taken out and read time and again. The words within are often sweeter than any chocolate - the memories more seductive than any rose.

Madame Catarina and the Nefarious Children of the Candy Corn

 

Madame Catarina was concocting a most delicious brew

Her world-renowned specialty : Trick-or-Treat Stew.

She was watching the leaves fall, enchanted and dazed,

When she finally looked into the pot, becoming quite amazed.

Her magical lolliwand started to spark and to smolder

Instead of chocolate, Candy Corn Kids stared up at their beholder.

Impish and wicked as they were sweet

They started to giggle and yell "Trick-or-Treat!"

Over and over, a most annoying chant

Catarina considered feeding them to her carnivorous plant.

They bounced around the room, wrecking this, wrecking that

And quickly angered the Witchy Black Cat.

She grabbed them both by their Pumpkin orange hair

And sat them firmly upon a creaky old chair.

"If you continue to misbehave, I'll eat you. Understood?"

"We're sorry, Madame, we promise to be good."

So the Candy Corn Kids were allowed to stay

They followed all the rules and neglected foul play.

And Madame Catarina's love for them sprouted and grew -

Until the next botched batch of Trick-or-Treat stew.

Last year, I needed to find a way to recycle Jumbo Pickle Jars. A few years ago, a collector commissioned a small Ghost in a Jar that fit into a basic Ball mason jar, and I took that idea and turned it into what you see here! They look amazing all lit up!
