About

Angela Clark Prater

When I was growing up, my mother would sit at her sewing machine creating country-inspired critters. Her specialty was a feminine bunny doll dressed in a frilly dress, and each would have their own distinct personality. She would sell her dolls at local fairs and craft shows. I didn't realize how much that would inspire and motivate me to begin creating my own one of a kind characters two decades later.

I began sewing several years ago, making little stress reliever "Dammit Dolls" and selling them eBay. As I started researching other dolls and discovering this whole world of doll artists I had never experienced before, I became ever more fascinated and inspired to try it myself.

I now create OOAK Art Dolls which I sell on eBay, Etsy, and privately as well. My characters range from elegant elephants, Gothic ghosts, dapper rabbit gentlemen, witches of all kinds, and whatever the voices in my head tell me to create. I love Halloween, and most of my work is geared toward that most spooktacular holiday.

"Amazing Grace" - OOAK Primitive Doll by Elaine Clark - Sonora, Texas

My Mom, Elaine Clark, is a fellow Primitive Folk Artist. Her wonderful work, such as "Amazing Grace" here, can be purchased through this link - Laines Ladies - on eBay.com!

I hope to one day be able to make my stitches as straight and precise as hers. :D
